Sunday 14th May 2017
was a very successful day. The weather contributed a lot, it was probably the warmest ‘Ashwell at Home’ we have ever had. Everybody enjoyed the welcoming relaxed atmosphere around the village and the mind boggling variety of things to do on the day. We celebrated 1100 years since Ashwell was founded in 917 with events, performances and art commemorating each century.

‘Ashwell at Home’ has been held on the second Sunday in May every year since 1983 and 2018 will be the 35th occasion of this popular event.

It was started to fund the first extension of the Ashwell Village Museum and since achieving that has helped fund a further extension too. Now the profits go towards the running costs of the museum but are also shared with St Mary’s Church and Ashwell Primary School.

Although gardens are the main attraction the village is covered with a wealth of amusing, entertaining, informative, interesting and refreshing events which make for a packed afternoon with something for all the family.

The next ‘Ashwell at Home’ will be on Sunday 12th May 2019, from 11 am until 5pm

The theme will be ‘Creative Ashwell’

We plan a great variety of old favourites and exciting new features for your amusement:
