Percy enlisted at Bedford on 10th February 1917 and served with the East Surrey Regiment 12th Battalion, Regimental number 26994 in the Western European Theatre of War, France and Flanders. He was killed in action on 22nd October 1918.

Percy was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.

He is buried in the Harlebeke New British Cemetery, Harlebeke, Arrondissement Kortrijk, West Flanders, Belgium and commemorated on the St Mary’s Church Ashwell Roll of Honour and the Ashwell War Memorial.

Percy was the fourth son of James and Emma (nee Waldock) Revels of Pickings Lane, Ashwell.  He was a pupil of the Merchant Taylors School in Ashwell and before enlisting was a farm labourer employed by Sir George Fordham.

In February 1918 Percy had been wounded in the leg and neck and had not long returned to his unit when he was killed. 

His brother James was also killed in France in August 1917 and his brother Tom was serving in Egypt with the Royal Berkshire Regiment and had been wounded at the time Percy was killed.
