George Bryant

      Name: George Bryant.

Regiment: Enlisted at Bedford ,  Private 26216 joined the 4th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment, 190th Brigade 63rd Royal Naval Division.


   History:  George Bryant was born in Ashwell, and was the son of Benjamin Bryant of Victoria Cottages, Ashwell.

He attended The Merchant Taylors’ School in Ashwell.

He was Killed in Action on 13th November 1916 , aged 27 years, near Beaucort, Somme during the Battle of Ancre.

There is no known grave but is commemorated on Pier 2C.
